An Ode to the Poolbeg Chimneys
When I first saw this film it felt so perfectly timed as I had just moved from Dublin to West Cork. It beautifully captures things I love to do in Dublin – cycling, swimming with pals, getting cosy after by drinking hot tea while clutching hot water bottles and the iconic Poolbeg Chimneys.
I first met Rob on a shoot for Fashion Revolution where he wore the Poolbeg Chimneys Jumper. He loved it and his family gifted it to him for his birthday. Rob & Ben approached me about making a film to celebrate my knitwear, sea swimming and Rob’s jumper. Of course I jumped at the chance.
They gathered some pals in December 2019 and swam at the Half Moon Swimming Club on Poolbeg Pier. This club was founded in 1898 and has a stunning view towards the Dublin & Wicklow mountains and towards Howth Hill. If you haven’t gone for a walk or swim there yet, I’d highly recommend it. Click here to watch an short documentary about the club made in 1965.
Dublin you are a beauty and you have some absolute gems to be celebrated. Hope you enjoy our Ode to Dublin & The Poolbeg Chimneys.
